About 1,000 demonstrators rallied in the Polish capital to support Israel and its people during the war with the Palestinian militant group Hamas, according to reports.
Participants in the rally expressed solidarity with the state of Israel and those abducted by Hamas, while also paying tribute to the victims killed in the violence.
“We came from [the southern city of] Wrocław to stand by other Jews around the world and to say that Israel has the full right to defend itself against the cruel attack on the country,” one protester told public broadcaster Polish Radio.
Meanwhile, protesters in the other demonstration, staged by Palestinians living in Poland and their Polish supporters, rallied in solidarity with Palestinian civilians in Gaza and argued for the imposition of sanctions on Israel.
The event was held under the slogan "Stop the massacre in Gaza."
